Charles Dale Slade

Nov 24, 1954 — Aug 27, 2026

Charles “Dale” Slade, 71, a resident of Larose, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Debra L. Slade; daughter, Scarlet Griffin and husband, Danny; son, Ryan Slade; brother, Craig V. Slade; and his beloved grandchildren, Marisa Slade, Aleeza Griffin, Leland Griffin, and Leighton Slade.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles L. Slade and Thelma R. Slade; and his brother, Curtis B. Slade.

Dale was a 1973 graduate of South Lafourche High School. He truly enjoyed life to the fullest and never met a stranger. With his warm personality, sense of humor, and ability to put a smile on the face of everyone in the room, he fittingly earned the nickname “Smiley.”

Dale loved traveling with his family and spending time outdoors, but nothing brought him greater joy than his family. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life, and the time spent with them was among his greatest treasures.

Dale will be remembered for the laughter he brought into a room, the friendships he made wherever he went, and, above all, the love he had for his family. His smile, humor, and larger-than-life personality will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
