With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Betty Thibodeaux Ross, who left this world peacefully on June 6, 2025, at the age of 90.
Born in Morgan City, Louisiana, and a longtime resident of Houma, Louisiana, Betty was a woman whose strength, love, and unwavering devotion to her family left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She lived her life with grace, humility, and quiet resilience—always putting others before herself and finding joy in life’s simple blessings.
Betty was known for her warm heart, her home-cooked meals, and the way she made everyone feel welcome. Whether through a kind word, a listening ear, or an open door, she touched countless lives with her generosity and compassion.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Betty cherished her family above all else. She built a life grounded in faith, love, and family—a legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
She is survived by her children, John L. Ross (Tammy) and Bettie Ross; her grandchildren, Brad Ross (Sarah), Terry LeCompte (Gabrielle), Jordyn Ross (Josh), and Ethan Ross (Sierra); and her great-grandchildren, Zachary (Samantha), Lilliana, Sophie-Anne, Raphael, Sarai, and Hannah. She is also survived by her brother, C.J. Thibodeaux (Kaye); her sister, Shirley Thibodeaux; her beloved Acklin Brunet; Acklin’s daughter and grand-daughter, Jania Mixon and Carleigh Breland; her former son–in-law, Mike LeCompte (Kristi); and her dear friend, Doris Arceneaux. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Ross; her parents, Emily and Clement Thibodeaux; and her brothers, Raymond Thibodeaux (Gwen) and Willie James.
Services celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, June 12, at Falgout Funeral Home, 211 Westside Blvd. Houma, starting at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 9:00 am. Graveside services will follow in St. Francis Cemetery II.
