Wayne "Dub" Henley Crenshaw, Jr.

February 16, 2022

Wayne “Dub” Henley Crenshaw, Jr. born June 27, 1927 in Bethany La, former resident of Delta Farms, La and current resident of Raceland, La passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 94 years old. He is survived by his wife Emma Cheramie Crenshaw, children Dr. William “Bill” Crenshaw (Patsy), Jayne Crenshaw Guidry (Marlon); daughter-in-law Diana Wiley Crenshaw (Kit's wife); step-daughter Debbie Cheramie (Mark). He was blessed with many loving grandchildren: Dr. Sarah Crenshaw McGahan (Philip Ryan), William “Will” Crenshaw, Cara Crenshaw Niederhofer (John), Casie Crenshaw Oncale (Beau), Melinda Guidry Dantin (Nick) and Ben Guidry (Jessica Miller); step-grandchildren Hugh Cheramie (Kristy) and Katelyn Cheramie Punch (Josh). Sweetest blessings: Great-grandchildren Pierre Pitre, Cale and Bryn Niederhofer, Baby Oncale (on the way), Jude and Brett Dantin, Ryleigh and Pierce Guidry, Victoria, Luke and Tyler Cheramie and Jay, Mya and Emy Punch. He was preceded in death by his wife Ramona T Crenshaw, son Sinclair “Kit” Crenshaw, parents Wayne H Crenshaw and Beatrice S. Crenshaw, and sister Betty C Lewis. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, member of the Masonic Lodge, and the Shriner Club. As an LSU graduate, Dub landed a dream job managing Delta Farms. He was embraced by the people of the area and felt humbled. Many mornings the problems of the world were solved at the round table of the Dew Drop Inn where he and many friends had coffee. He brought his kids to a few and they were treated to a coke. He loved being a cattleman, playing 18 holes of golf, traveling, and anything LSU. His family was his favorite pastime. He loved family get-togethers, talking about sports and what’s for supper. We would like to thank family and friends that visited, Home Instead, Caregivers Rhonda Breaux and Cheryl Chaisson and Hospice of South Louisiana. On Monday, February 21, 2022, Military Honors will begin at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Larose followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am. A gathering will follow the mass at the Larose Civic Center; everyone is welcome. In lieu of flowers please donate to Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church Larose or your favorite charity. Falgout Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
