Mr. Michael "Mike" Joseph Jambon

May 10, 2022

Mike loved life, loved people, and especially loved spending time with his family and friends and making people laugh. He was a natural storyteller who enjoyed and displayed great talent in many endeavors throughout his life, including wood-working, photography, and music. He enjoyed fishing and being on the water, dancing and singing, sharing a good meal and a drink, traveling and meeting new people, rooting for the Saints and the Tigers, supporting community organizations and charitable causes, and speaking his native French language and welcoming French-speaking tourists to Louisiana. Mike was a man of great faith and a parishioner of Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport, and his faith inspired his life to be one of generosity and compassion. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Loretta Gisclair Jambon, his sons, Kirby (and wife, Jennifer), Dan (and wife, Susan), and Moe (and wife, Ursula), his sister-in-law, Lois Gisclair, his adopted Sister, Dee Morilla Valerio, his niece, Natasha Cantrelle, his grandchildren, Derek Jambon, Kaitlynn Jambon, Candice Roberts, Nicole Jambon, Morgan Calhoon, Christian Jambon, Taylor Defelice, Maxx Crotwell, Caleb Defelice, and Isabella Jambon, his great niece, Alyssa Cantrelle, and his great grandchildren, Maddox, Jace, and Remi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kirby and Anna Punch Jambon, and his brother-in-law, Dan Gisclair. Visitation will be held at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Raceland on Tuesday, May 17th, beginning at 9:00 am.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Holy Savior Catholic Church Cemetery in Lockport. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Holy Savior and St. Hilary Catholic Churches. Falgout Funeral Homes is entrusted with arrangements.
