Mr. Gilmay "Gil" Chouest

November 14, 1944 - April 24, 2022

Gilmay “Gil” J. Chouest, 77, a native of Galliano and resident of Cut Off passed away on Sunday, April 24th, 2022. A visitation will take place on April 27th, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Golden Meadow from 9:00 am until service time. Services will begin at 11:00 am with procession following to his burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cut Off. Mr. Gilmay is survived by his children: Dwayne Chouest, Sr. (Doris) and Yvonne C. Bellanger (Jason); grandchildren: Desiree Hornback (Kasey), Susan Chouest (Josh), Dwayne Chouest, Jr. (Brandy), and Ariel Danos (Hudson); great grandchildren: Morgan Hornback, Lola LaJaunie, Liam Chouest, Ven Danos, and Lilah Chouest; brother: Jeffery Chouest; and sister: Patricia Louviere. Mr. Chouest was preceded in death by his wife: Barbara S. Chouest; parents: Cleveland Chouest, Sr. and Dorothy B. Chouest; brothers: Cleveland Chouest, Jr. and Johnny Chouest; and sister: Arlene Chouest. Gil was a devout, church going, family man who greatly loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed, but is now together with his beloved wife, Barbara. Falgout Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
